DESCRIPTION:Railroad historian Mark Worrall returns to the Vicksburg Historical Society Speaker Series to present For the Love of Trains on Sunday\, May 18\, 2025 at 2pm in the Vicksburg Historic Village Township Hall building. \nFor the Love of Trains:\nJoin us on a tour of Michigan’s railroad history through early 20th century images. Explore images from this period of traveling spindly logging railroads\, high speed interurbans\, mighty class one lines\, and humble shortlines. Whether under the wires\, pulled by horses\, or pulled by the iron horse\, we will look at the stories behind the images – some rare and lost\, some fun\, some sad\, but all part of the wonderful tapestry of Michigan rail history. \nThe Speaker Series is free and open to the public. Donations are encouraged.\nFollow the signs to park on the grass near the building.
