History comes alive this fall at the Vicksburg Cemetery Tours, a unique afternoon of storytelling and remembrance on Saturday, October 4 at Schoolcraft Township (Vicksburg) Cemetery.
The walking tour will introduce visitors to eleven former residents of Vicksburg, portrayed by local volunteer actors who bring their voices and stories back from the past. This year’s tour features figures such as:
- Jacob Lemon, one of the area’s early settlers whose life offers a glimpse into the challenges and determination of 19th-century pioneers.
- Fanny Bair, a pioneering woman whose life shaped the early educational and civic fabric of the village.
- O.B. Dunning, a community leader and businessman whose influence helped shape modern Vicksburg.
Their stories—and those of seven other fascinating individuals—offer a window into the triumphs, tragedies, and everyday moments that define the Vicksburg area’s history.
