Celebrating Vicksburg’s Agricultural Heritage
Join the fun each fall in celebration of Vicksburg’s agricultural heritage during the Vicksburg Harvest Festival held at the Vicksburg Historic Village. The fest is always the final Sunday in September from 11:00am to 4:00pm and has activities for the whole family. The Harvest Festival is a fundraiser to support the preservation efforts of the Vicksburg Historical Society, but admission and parking are both free.
Bring your appetite as there are food trucks and vendors aplenty, and a petting zoo with a variety of barnyard animals including sheep, pigs, goats, and even a bull. This is an amazing event attracting over 2,000 people annually.
Activities include wagon rides, Model A car rides, vendors with many homemade items, food booths, storytelling, a scavenger hunt, saw mill demonstration, and pumpkin decorating. All the buildings in the Historic Village are open with docents to guide visitors on a tour of the area’s past.
