Celebrating Vicksburg’s Agricultural Heritage
Join the fun each fall in celebration of Vicksburg’s agricultural heritage during the Vicksburg Harvest Festival held at the Vicksburg Historic Village, with activities for the whole family from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Harvest Festival is a fundraiser to support the preservation efforts of the Vicksburg Historical Society. Bring your appetite for the pie baking contest; and a petting zoo with a variety of barnyard animals including sheep, lambs, pigs, goats and even Tornado the bull. This is an amazing event attracting over 4,000 people annually.
Activities include hay rides, Model A car rides, vendors with many homemade items, food booths, storytelling, a scavenger hunt, saw mill demonstration, and an old time photographer with period costumes available to remember your visit. All the buildings in the Historic Village are open to visitors. The day would not be complete without music from area performers in the pavilion and gazebo to set the festive atmosphere.
