Join us Saturday, December 7, 14, 21, and 28, 11am-5pm for activities for all ages: Check out our model train layout where volunteers will operate the train, chat about the layout, and even teach you to operate the controls! The Vicksburg Historical Society is excited to announce that registration for our first History Camp is now open! History Camp is for students entering 6th-8th grade in the 2024-25 school year. Attendees will spend their time at the Historic Village learning about Vicksburg history, railroads, local industry, music, and how to protect family artifacts at home. We are proud to present a speaker each day to highlight a different subject. All attendees will be provided a t-shirt, snacks, and interesting topics to keep them learning. A Trip on the Grand Rapids & Indiana: Vicksburg to Petoskey Join us for the second installment of the 2023 Speaker Series with Michigan railroad historian Mark Worrall. Mr. Worrall will take us on a trip up the GR&I railroad. Beginning on Vicksburg, the presentation will follow the rail line up to Petoskey, giving the audience a view of what they might have seen in the heyday of rail travel. The Speaker Series is held in Township Hall in the Historic Village at 2pm. This is a free event and is open to the public. Please join us!

Build a Birdhouse

We will be building and decorating birdhouses at the Historic Village on Saturday, June 17, 10am-12pm. After building your birdhouse, with help from Frederick Construction, you will have the opportunity to paint and decorate. All buildings in the Historic Village will also be open for visitors. Event is FULL!

Bike Rodeo & Tune Up

Join us Saturday, May 13, 9am-12pm for this FREE event! Begin the day at the Gazebo in the Historic Village and then move through four stations where kids can get their bikes tuned up by Pedal Bicycle, get their helmet fitting checked by Safe Kids Kalamazoo County or get a free helmet while supplies last, learn hand signals for road safety, and go through the bike rodeo to put their skills to the test.
