Saturday 10/15/22 kicks off the 150th Anniversary of the Village of Vicksburg! From 5-9pm, there will be tons of activities happening downtown including live music, hands-on art activities, food trucks, vintage vehicles, and more! In several of the buildings the Historical Society has placed displays harkening back to the past 150 years of the community. Schedule of Events: 5pm - Opening Ceremony with Vicksburg Village Council President Tim Frisbie at The Distant Whistle. 5:30pm – Feel Frieda kicks off at Distant Whistle. 5-8pm – Activities on Prairie and Main Streets 8-9pm  Hot Air Balloon Glow

Kids 5-12 6 Winners Total- Judged on Creativity & Artistry Sunday, Sept. 25 from 11am-4pm CONTEST RULES AND GUIDELINES WHO: Children ages 5-12 only, please. Families may enter one pumpkin/gourd per child. The winning contestants do not need to be present to win. We’ll send your prize by mail. The 12th annual Harvest Festival will be held on September 25  The free event that delivers early fall fun for the entire family will be held Sunday, Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Historic Village on N. Richardson Street. Attendees will find horse drawn hay wagon rides, lots of neat animals to pet and appreciate, face painting, mini pumpkin decorating, and more. The Vicksburg Historical Society invites families, friends, businesses, and organizations to the 2022 May Meander!   This is the opening day of the Vicksburg Historic Village and our third annual May Meander. As part of the opening of the season, the Vicksburg Historical Society invites local businesses, organizations and non-profits to have a table set up in the village, to promote your organization, volunteer opportunities, upcoming events, etc. Come down and explore the Historic Village, enjoy free refreshments, and the kickoff of the 2022 Speaker Series with Gary Gibson! The Harvest Festival will return after a two-year hiatus for the 11th annual celebration.  Fantastic fun for the whole family, the Harvest Festival is organized by the Vicksburg Historical Society and will be held on Sunday, Sept. 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Historic Village on N. Sunday, June 27 at 2:00pm the Township Hall in the Historic Village will host Gary Swain. Mr. Swain will present his excellent program on the Civil War seen through the eyes of Michigan soldiers who fought at Gettysburg. Swain is Department Senior Vice Commander for the Department of Michigan in the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, a fraternal organization dedicated to preserving the history and legacy of veteran heroes who fought and worked to save the Union in the American Civil War.
