History Camp

Do you know a Vicksburg Middle School student that loves history (or learning!)?

History Camp topics will include industry, local history, music, art, archiving, railroads, and books. Participants will receive quick interesting lessons from speakers knowledgeable on their topic. Speakers include:

Sharon Carlson, retired WMU archivist (protecting photos and documents at home)
Leah Milowe, Vicksburg Historical Society Museum Administrator and Curator (local history)
Susan Kallewaard, Vicksburg District Library Youth Service Librarian (book recommendations)
Kathy and Bob Brandy, The Raven Bow string duo (music)
Vicksburg Cultural Arts Center, art project
The Mill at Vicksburg

July 22-26, 2024, 9am-12pm. Open to students in 6th-8th grade for the 2024-25 school year.

Cost is $50. Scholarships may be available.
Participants will: receive a t-shirt, make a camp journal, get snack breaks, have a pizza lunch on the final day.
