Join the Vicksburg Historical Society for our annual membership meeting and welcome special guest speaker, Kevin Harris, Sr., an Elder with the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi who will speak on the history of the tribe passed down from generations by word. Enjoy gathering with fellow Vicksburg Historical Society members and learning more about our upcoming events and programming for the year! A FREE event to teach kids the basics of bike safety, get minor bike maintenance done, and make sure those helmets fit right! Begin the day at the Gazebo in the Historic Village and then move through stations for the following events: ~Kids can get their bike inspected and have small repairs done for FREE (parts not included) by Pedal Bicycle. ~Meet with Safe Kids Kalamazoo County to make sure helmets are fitting right and will keep everyone safe. The Vicksburg Historical Society is celebrating the opening of the Historic Village for the 2023 season on Saturday, June 10, 11am-3pm! Join us for games, visit the Print Shop for an opportunity to operate the Washington Hand Press (12pm-2pm), check out the Model A, and tour all the buildings in the village. The Vicksburg District Library and Vicksburg Rotary Club will also have booths on site. And, since it is Car Festival Weekend, the Tin Can Tourists and Tractors and Steam Engines will also be on display!
