Historic Village Opening Day

The Vicksburg Historical Society is celebrating the opening of the Historic Village for the 2023 season on Saturday, June 10, 11am-3pm! Join us for games, visit the Print Shop for an opportunity to operate the Washington Hand Press (12pm-2pm), check out the Model A, and tour all the buildings in the village. The Vicksburg District Library and Vicksburg Rotary Club will also have booths on site. And, since it is Car Festival Weekend, the Tin Can Tourists and Tractors and Steam Engines will also be on display!

Birdhouse Building

Registration is FULL! We will be building and decorating birdhouses at the Historic Village with help from Frederick Construction! Registration is required for this event! For more information, call Leah Richard at 269-649-1733.

Fun on the Farm!

Explore Sunny Acres Farmstead! Take part in Hands-on-History: get hands on with a hand crank washing machine! Make your own seed cup: decorate your cup and plant your seeds! Take them home to watch them grow! Enjoy story time at 11am. Visit the animals: We'll have farm animals for you to meet and pet!

Speaker Series 2023

Train Robberies in Michigan Dean Pyers, Executive Director for the Steam Railroading Institute, will present "Train Robberies in Michigan". The Speaker Series is held in Township Hall in the Historic Village. This is a free event and is open to the public. Please join us!

Speaker Series 2023

A Trip on the Grand Rapids & Indiana: Vicksburg to Petoskey The second installment of the 2023 Speaker Series brings Michigan railroad historian Mark Worrall to Township Hall. Mr. Worrall will takes us on a trip up the GR&I railroad. Beginning on Vicksburg, the presentation will follow the rail line up to Petoskey, giving the audience a view of what they might have seen in the heyday of rail travel. The Speaker Series is held in Township Hall in the Historic Village. This is a free event and is open to the public. Please join us!

13th Annual Harvest Festival

The 13th annual Harvest Festival is fantastic fall fun for the entire family! Admission and parking for the fest are free. The event will feature: Horse Drawn Wagon Rides Model A Car Rides Pumpkin Decorating Contest Pumpkin Weight Guess Secret Word Hunt Saw Mill Demonstration Antique Tractor Demonstration Animal Zone (petting zoo) Food Vendors Children’s Entertainment The Harvest Festival is organized by the Vicksburg Historical Society.
